F A Q's
What does a typical worship service look like?
At 9:00 and 10:30 am, we worship God with songs led by a band, consisting of several vocalists, guitars, drums, keyboards, and various other instruments. Within the service, a practical message from the Bible is presented. Also within the service, there is a special communion time, which we observe weekly. This is a time to remember the sacrifice for sins that Jesus paid for us. The bread and the cup are served and taken in unison. Worship services are about one hour in length.
What should I wear to the worship service?
Casual dress is the norm. Don’t make any special arrangements, we want you to come just as you are. Some come in jeans, some come in suit and tie. Wear what makes you comfortable.
Should I bring a Bible when I come on Sunday?
We encourage you to bring your Bible and a pen every weekend. Most scripture is also projected on a large screen for easy reading. Notes are also provided for further study. Most of the time, we use the New International Version (NIV).
What does FCC have for kids and teens?
Our children and youth programs are some of the best. During all of the worship services, we provide a nursery for your little ones. During the 9:00 am worship service, we provide Bible classes for all children and youth. The highlight of the morning for your kids comes at 10:30 am as they experience KidsROCK Worship—a high energy experience filled with music, movies, drama, and practical teaching. Will my kids be safe?
Fortville Christian Church has a secure computer-based check-in system to ensure your child’s safety and well being – and your peace of mind. After you enter the front doors, visit the Welcome Center where volunteers will help you register your kids and get them to their appropriate classes.
Will I be asked to give money when I come?
As a guest, please feel no obligation to give. If Fortville Christian Church is your church home, then we ask you to be faithful to God in your giving and partner with us in accomplishing God’s work in central Indiana. During the 9:00 and 10:30 am services, offering is collected by passing offering plates. Or, you can simply drop your offering in the large black boxes near the exits.
Will I be singled out as a visitor?
As our guest, you will not be asked to stand and introduce yourself. We won't even volunteer you to make cookies for the entire 2nd grade class! We value your right to anonymity and our hope is that you will just come. After the worship service, join us in the lobby to meet some of our staff and get a free gift. Just look for the cart with the balloons.
What kind of church is FCC?
Fortville Christian Church is not affiliated with any denomination. That’s why we call ourselves “non-denominational.” Technically speaking, we are a restoration movement church. We teach Christianity based solely on the Bible. We believe the Bible is the infallible word of God and it is our standard for all we do. For a brief statement of our beliefs, follow the link above.
